On the night of May 3, 2022, 22-year-old Savannah Nicolle Hale disappeared from Shreveport, Louisiana—and three years later, her family is still searching for answers.
Savannah was young, bright, and driven. A computer science major at Louisiana State University Shreveport, she had her whole future ahead of her. She was close with her family, and was described by friends as loyal and kind-hearted. There was no reason for her to vanish. Yet somehow, in the early morning hours of May 4, 2022, Savannah seemed to slip off the map entirely.
The Final Hours
That night, Savannah and her boyfriend went out to Fatty Arbuckle’s, a bar in downtown Shreveport. Afterward, they returned to the home of the boyfriend’s grandparents—where the two had been staying.
Between 2:00 and 6:00 a.m., something happened that would change everything.
Records show Savannah left and returned to the house several times that night, though it’s still unclear why. Surveillance and card activity trace her movements between downtown and the home in quick intervals, suggesting she may have been unsettled—or possibly meeting someone.
At 6:06 a.m., she used her credit card at a Chevron station on North Market Street. Two minutes later, she called her sister. The call went unanswered, but Savannah left a short voicemail—nothing alarming, just a normal message. That voicemail would later become chilling, as it marked her last known communication.
By 7:03 a.m., cameras captured Savannah’s gray 2012 Kia Forte (Louisiana plate 607-DNH, with a dent near the gas cap) leaving the Louisiana Tower Parking Garage alone. After that, there’s no trace—no more footage, no pings, no sightings.
Her phone went dark shortly after. It has never been turned back on.
Her car has never been recovered.
And Savannah has never been seen again.
The Disappearance
When Savannah’s sister tried calling her at 8:03 a.m., the call went straight to voicemail. Concerned, she drove to Savannah’s apartment—only to find it empty. When she contacted Savannah’s boyfriend, he claimed he didn’t know when Savannah had left or where she’d gone.
By that afternoon, the family reported her missing.
Investigators followed digital trails and combed through hours of surveillance footage, but leads quickly dried up. With no recovered vehicle, phone, or witnesses, the case became one of Shreveport’s most haunting mysteries.
Who Was Savannah?
Savannah was more than just a name on a missing person’s flyer. She was a student, sister, daughter, and dreamer. Friends say she had a soft spot for animals and a strong sense of curiosity about the world. She had plans for her life—and those plans were cut short without warning.
She stood 5'8" and weighed around 160 pounds, with blue eyes and blonde hair (dyed silver at the time). She had a butterfly tattoo on her upper left arm, a pyramid on her inner left ankle, and a birthmark near her neck at the hairline.
At the time she disappeared, Savannah was wearing all black—a hoodie, leggings, and sneakers.
What Could Have Happened?
Three years later, there’s still no clear explanation for Savannah’s disappearance—but several theories continue to circulate.
1. Voluntary Disappearance
While this theory was floated early on, those who knew Savannah best don’t buy it. She had no known mental health struggles, no plans to leave, and no reason to abandon her studies or loved ones. Plus, the fact that her car vanished suggests something more sinister.
2. Foul Play
The most widely believed theory is that Savannah met with foul play. The timeline of her movements, the early morning hour, and the disappearance of her vehicle all point toward something being deliberately concealed. Could someone have followed her that night? Did she meet someone she trusted? Or did an argument or misunderstanding spiral out of control?
If her car was hidden or disposed of, it would explain the complete lack of physical evidence. Shreveport’s rural outskirts, swampy areas, and waterways make it easy for a vehicle to go unseen for years.
3. A Regional Pattern?
Shreveport sits about 30 minutes from Princeton, Louisiana, an area that’s seen several mysterious disappearances in recent years. Some online sleuths wonder if these cases could be connected—or if there’s a pattern being overlooked. There’s no official link yet, but the similarities are hard to ignore.
Three Years of Searching
Savannah’s family has fought tirelessly to keep her story alive. They’ve organized search efforts, maintained social media pages, and kept communication open with investigators. Every lead brings a spark of hope—but each passing day without answers deepens the pain.
Three years is a long time to wait. But for Savannah’s loved ones, time has not dulled their determination.
Someone Knows Something
Savannah’s disappearance didn’t happen in a vacuum. Someone saw something that morning. Someone knows where her car went—or what happened after she left that parking garage. Even the smallest piece of information could help solve this mystery and bring peace to her family.
